Progress

I've actually made some writing progress today. I'm not sure how much of it I'm actually proud of, but I've made words happen. I'm choosing to be proud of this. I'm also choosing to be proud of the plotting and planning [personal profile] katsuko and I have done in this dark version of one of the verses we've got going. (In fact, we call the dark verse "Worst Case Scenario" for a reason.)

I can't say I've done much today, but I've managed to get a goodly number of words done. [personal profile] katsuko and I also went to see Wonder Woman. I feel like we spent a lot of time making D&D references (Wondie is so the tank in this situation) and a near equal amount of time comparing it to Captain America: The First Avenger. But it was really, really good. We both enjoyed it. [personal profile] katsuko only ended up crying once, so that's a step in the right.

And now I think I'm going to work a bit more on [community profile] 15kinks... and maybe a bit on 15k:WCS. Because apparently we're fucking sadistic. This is a verse that will never be shared. It's purely for [personal profile] katsuko and me. It's that level of dark and wrong.

Nothing

I don't really have anything to say, so I'm thinking that I'll just do another of those gigantic cut list of all my current Pokemon in Pokemon Go. Because that always matters, right?

The list only continues to grow... New ones are bolded )

I am trying to convince [personal profile] katsuko to go in with me on writing some Suicide Squad fic, in which Lt. GQ Edwards is secretly Dick Grayson, possibly even eventually getting Red Hood in. Because DC movie 'verse hasn't said which Robin is dead and I can't imagine them killing Dick Grayson when there is so much movie potential there.

But that's about it. Later, all.

Half day

apollymi: Captain America in the middle of rubble, no text (Aveng**Cap: Devestation)
I managed to score a half-day off work today. That's mostly thanks to the fact that there is no school in session on the weekends. Yay! So all I had to work was dinner shift... and Carlos promised to let me out early. And he... sort of... followed through.

[personal profile] katsuko and I went to see Suicide Squad. We weren't exactly expecting high drama or anything, but all we wanted was a fun popcorn flick. It was definitely that. [personal profile] katsuko has been making her way through the AO3 list of Suicide Squad. I'm getting ready to take my laptop back the hall and start through some of the ones she's sent me.

And yeah, that's about it. Time to go hop on the fandom bicycle.

apollymi: Doujinshi art, Roy & Ed, no text (FMA**Roy/Ed: These quiet moments)
What a lovely day. And that's totally not intended to be a Mad Max: Fury Road kind of thing, though now I'm hearing it in Nux's voice, which makes it much more hilarious.

Mom has a friend who has a friend who is someone high up in the food chain at Home Depot. Supposedly this friend of a friend is going to get me an interview for an admin position there. It's worth a shot... and it has to be better than Mirko Pasta, right? Right now, it sometimes feels like going back to CVS would be better than Mirko Pasta, which is very much not an idea I'm happy with, given how much I hated that job.

I've been supposed to be writing most of the day. Instead, I've been playing around on Facebook and texting Mom and putting in applications, only one of which is really a useful method of spending my time. I've also been going through a backlog of AO3 stories that I have on alerts which have updated. It's surprising seeing just what fandoms are coming in with updates, since they're so all over the place: Avengers, Teen Wolf, The Losers, Star Wars (of all flavors, prequels to original trilogy to the new movie), Fullmetal Alchemist (because I need Roy/Ed fluff in my life often), and Batman (because Jason/Dick is why I need fluff in my life, because they are stupid broken boys in love and I will hear no differently). Seriously, I'm all over the place, fandom-wise.

I didn't get as much written yesterday as I wanted, and I'm still trying to make words happen today, so the word counter is not at the happy place I want it to be for the day, but I'm going to keep trying to make it go further and further. I want this story to succeed. It's a lot of fun, and it could potentially be a good series. Maybe. Potentially. Perhaps.

Anyway, here's the most up to date word count, not counting what else I might manage to get written tonight.

4473 / 30000 words. 15% done!

Don't you hate it when you find a thing you want and it's not available anymore? Like, say, this thing of beauty and awesome? Or even this one? I did find one still available online, but that's a bit more than I feel comfortable paying for a jacket, especially in the area of the world where I live (where it's hot so much of the time).

Other than that, I don't really have much to say for myself today. I slept in, I ate lunch, I watched Sherlock, I napped, I went to work, I came home, and I'm giving some serious thought into going on to bed sooner rather than later. That way I can just not think about going back to work again tomorrow.

At least I have a new project coming up for Seven Seas that will give me something else to think about for a bit. And I do have a pet sitting gig next weekend, so that's also of the good.

A pants-less Sunday

apollymi: Stitch lying on the beach with a lei, text reads "I like fluffy" (L&S**Stitch: I like fluffy)
Early last week, I declared today would be Pants-less Sunday. I was... most successful in this endeavor. I did a skirt when we went out and when I opened the door for the pizza guy. (Good food, but I'm still tasting it. It might be a while before we do pizza again.) The closest all day I have come to wearing pants has been pyjama pants... and I'm okay with that.

We're working our way through Arrow. So far... Okay, we're on Episode 8, and I have a few thoughts. One, the voiceover MUST stop. It's seriously killing me. Two, there are a lot of Brits in this show. Three, OMG! DRESDEN! (aka, Paul Blackthorne is in this, and that makes my damn day.) Four, I'm ready for me some Black Canary now, but I will take the Huntress as a close runner up. And five, seriously, people must be really, really dumb in Sterling City to not realize that Oliver Queen is the Hood, because, dude, he doesn't even so much as wear a mask, just some green spray paint.

Happy Herbivore food is back starting tomorrow. I made us Thai Tofu Noodle Soup for lunch tomorrow. After work, I will be making us a Greens Quiche that will be dinner tomorrow and lunch Tuesday. After that, it's a Nava Atlas recipe for Mock Chicken Noodle Soup for Tuesday dinner and Wednesday lunch, another Nava Atlas recipe of Taco Soup for Wednesday dinner and Thursday lunch, Thursday's dinner is at TCC, and Friday's lunch is HH Tofu and Broccoli Satay. Next week's menu is likewise planned out.

The headache keeps trying to come back, so I'm gonna finish the fic I'm reading and go to bed. G'night, folks.

Always!

apollymi: Hatter with a cuppa, text reads "Tea?" (Alice**Hatter: Tea?)
Someone tell me why this is, please. Every weekend, I start feeling ill. Right now I'm trying to battle down a dry cough, sneezes, sore throat, and headache (please, don't say I have the flu, I'm trying to live in denial land). Last weekend, I had a head cold.

I called the pharmacy to see about getting a flu shot... and one, my insurance doesn't cover it, and two, they are completely out of flu vaccines. Out. That's just bizarre to me. Really and truly bizarre.

In other news, my beta has finished the first chapter of my [community profile] 24hourthemes challenge. I'm hoping to have it out tomorrow or Sunday. I'm a bit excited about this, because I'm basically using this as an excuse to write a sequel I have been planning on doing for a while, to Where Angels.

And in the meantime, I've been reading Fullmetal Alchemist and Star Wars fics, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ship_manifesto. I think my next two manifestos to go through are for the LXG movie (Jekyll/Mina) and DC comics (Superman/Batman). I know, I know: I have weird ships. I'm trying to get [personal profile] katsuko to promise to write me a Jekyll/Mina with a side of Skinner/Sawyer fic for my birthday next month.

And yeah, that's about it. I think I'm shortly to dose myself and go to bed early. Better to sleep as much of this off as possible, so that I feel human enough to go to the gym.

Later!
